The phi grid subdivides the panel into rectangles governed by the golden ratio — the 1 : 1.618 proportion painters, architects, and typographers have leaned on for centuries because it nests into itself forever. The result is an asymmetric composition that looks arranged rather than generated.
About the phi grid pattern
Unlike repeating lattices, a phi grid never settles into a rhythm; each subdivision is a different size, yet every size relates to every other through the same ratio. That's what gives the panel its Mondrian-adjacent, gallery-wall quality — order you feel rather than count.
