Seigaiha

Seigaiha (青海波, "blue ocean waves") layers concentric half-circles into scalloped rows, like fish scales or fans opening over one another. The motif arrived in Japan over a thousand years ago via court dance costumes and became a wish for lasting calm — waves that go on forever.
About the seigaiha pattern
Unlike rigid lattices, seigaiha gives a panel a direction: the fans cascade downward, so the pattern naturally suits panels that want flow — water features, coastal rooms, anything that should feel serene rather than technical. The concentric arcs catch light differently at every angle, which steel renders beautifully.
Each fan's arcs are linked by radial bars so the sheet stays fully connected, and the bar width slider tunes how delicate the rings read. Scale the fans large for a bold graphic statement or small for a tight, textile-like texture.
